New Audit Trail Settings in ProjectWise V8i
One of the new features in ProjectWise V8i is the ability to log user account activities in the ProjectWise audit trail. The activities logged include the creation of an account along with the individual logins and logouts.
This information is only visible when viewing user account properties in the ProjectWise Administrator, they are not accessible via the ProjectWise Explorer. To view these records, select an individual user account in the Administrator and select the Properties command. The new user account Audit Trail logs are now visible in the Audit Trail tab. The logs can be exported to an external file using the Save button or printed to hard copy using the Print button. The Customize button can be used to define how the Audit Trail data is formatted in the output generated by the Save and Print commands. (See Figure 1)

Enabling the Logging of User Account Activities
In order to enable the logging of these user activities, you must go to the datasource properties dialog in the ProjectWise Administrator by right-clicking on the datasource name and selecting the Properties command. Go to the Settings tab and scroll down to the Audit Trail category where you will find the new User section. The three options (Log User Create, Log Logins, and Log Logouts) are listed here where you individually enable or disable them. (See Figure 2)

Note: Keep in mind that adding these options to your audit trail will increase the number of activities which are logged in your audit trail. Now would be a good time to review your audit trail record truncation settings to ensure that the size of your audit trail does not impact the performance of your database.
