Using InterPlot command line to automatically create plot sets
Using Microsoft Windows Scheduled Task Service and InterPlot command line feature to automatically create plot sets of drawings from a network share.
Plot sets can help speed up the process of having to print sets of drawings that are often changed. Using the Microsoft Scheduled Task service, a simple batch file, and the command line feature of Interplot Organizer, you can automatically take DGN’s out of a directory and create a plot set even if sheet numbers are renamed or drawings are added.
Once the IPS file is created anyone can open it and batch plot the drawings to be delivered, submitted, or redlined. This is a quick and easy way to have this run automatically in the background.
Steps:
1) Create a new text file and rename it to iplot.bat
2) Open up the .bat file and enter the following command line syntax:
iplotorg create -add_plot=\\networkshare\drawings\*.dgn HA1309.ips
3) Save the file
4) Go to Start-> Settings-> Control Panel->Scheduled Tasks
5) Double click the Add Scheduled Tasks icon
6) Click Next on the first screen
7) Click the Browse button and find the location of iplot.bat file
8) Select the day(s) and time you want Iplot to automatically create the plot set
9) Click finish.
