ProjectWise Address Bar Links

Links in the ProjectWise Explorer Address Bar (View > Toolbar > Address), can be used as document shortcuts that you can share with other ProjectWise users or use yourself in a variety of ways:

1. Links in an email. Using the Send To > Mail Recipient command, an email will be created that contains a link to the document in ProjectWise. When the recipient clicks on the link, the ProjectWise Explorer will be launched and the linked document's folder will be opened and the document will be selected.

2. Links to ProjectWise documents can also be embedded in an Office documents. Just remember that anyone clicking on the link will need access to the ProjectWise datasource containing the file.

3. Dragging a document from the ProjectWise Explorer to your Windows desktop or other file folder will create a shortcut to that document that you can use to quickly find that file in ProjectWise.

4. Copying the contents of the address bar to the address field of Internet Explorer, Windows Explorer, or the Start > Run command in Windows XP will also launch the ProjectWise Explorer and take you to the document.
